We just flew back from Tahoe about an hour ago. What an amazing place. Living in North Carolina I get to see the Smoky Mountains all the time, which are very beautiful, but Tahoe is something special.
I got the entire set list from Sunday nights show but would love to see one from Friday and Saturday. It has all been a blurr.
The fans are the best! Meeting all those people was great. Hello to all of you. Special thanks for the Cabo Wabo special edition guitar pick. The Cantina was a great place to hang. Drinks are a little expensive.
The coolest thing was walking in the Cantina and seeing the picture that I gave him last year in Marion SC hanging on the wall. It is a great black and white shot of Sammy and Eddie from Farm Aid. He does save that stuff!
We got to stand in the front row Friday night, thanks to our great friend Mary. Was on stage Saturday and stood against the center railing about half way back Sunday night. Seeing those shows from three different perspectives was great.
All three shows were different. I loved them all but the Sunday night show was my favorite. They came out and did an hour of acoustic songs then took a 15 minute break and played another hour and forty minutes. AMAZING! Sammy was at his best that night. Told some great stories, was very loose. Signed everything and anything. He said the last three nights was the best thing musically he has ever done.
His wife Kari hung out on the side all three nights. She gets into it as much as the fans. Plus she is so freakin' hot!! (Apologies to my wife :)
The Waboritas are a great band. They were super cool to share their stage with,Ted Nugent, Toby Keith, Ronnie Montrose, Jerry Cantrel, Billy Duffy, Johnny Highland, and Bob Weir.
Here is the setlist from Sunday. Please someone forward Friday and Saturday's. I was stone dead tired from the flight that day and got a little wasted on stage Saturday and forgot to write it down.
That was my 29th Sammy show, including solo and VH, and I must say that was one of the best ever. Very different at times. Number 30 is VH June 11 Greensboro!
