This special version of Van Halen's "Dreams" was filmed in March 1993 at the famed Whisky a Go-Go to celebrate their 15-year anniversary. It followed on the heels of the February 1993 release of their first live album "Live: Right Here, Right Now". They hadn't played the Whisky since 1978.

"Putting the show together to celebrate 25 years of Van Halen, we wanted to do something that would whip up a frenzy so we decided to do it at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, one of the places where it all began for us. We figured we would play a show, keep it a secret, and anybody walking by on the strip that night could come in and there we would be up on stage. Then the club decided to put our name up on the marquee and that’s when the chaos started, thousands of fans in the street on the Sunset strip, looking for tickets to get into the show. They announced that they could get tickets down the street at a venue called the Palladium, and I remember us watching the news from a hotel room that we were at, thousands of fans, running down the street, Sunset Boulevard, to get to those tickets, it was fucking great!! They shut us down after only a few songs, but it turned out to be an amazing show. 'Live: Right Here, Right Now' was the second live album that we put out and at that point the band was firing on all cylinders, we were most definitely at the peak of what Van Halen was, and would ever be!! Watching it 30 years later, I think if we were still together today, no other band out there would be able to come close to how we were throwing it down!!
